Content Speed and Search Algos Thrust

Well the idea is to track the past trends on the evolution of contents or the nature of the web contents and then predict the forms of web contents and thus making your digital marketing strategies accordingly.

We all know the different variations and forms of search engine algos to pull the web pages. The era began with web 1.0 to web 2.0 and now its time to semantic web that is web 3.0. The maximum utiliisation of artificial intelligence.

If we can rank the types of web contents according to their respective speed to reach to the audience what we get:

1. Writing on web pages
2. Blog Writing
3. Discussion Forums
4. Video
5. PPT/Slides
6. Images
7. Social Media
8. Micro Blogging … and so on (plz rectify me if am wrong)

The search rankings also evolved since then. User generated contents have got the top most priority during 2005-2006 and now its the time to have social media contents and the reaching capability to the audience. This theme led to user engagement and associated social signal. Highly signalling and reviewed site get the priority to the search engines while SEO comes in question.

If we can predict the trend via some data analysis or trend analysis, we could be able to move forward as to what will be the search algos next target to put the priority. Like Mobile SEO, Television Contents, latest domestic gadgets with social apps (like samsung refrigerator) etc.

It is highly appreciable if I have your feedback.

Update your strategy for Universal Search

Lots of web pages have been devoted towards the discussion of Google Universal Search. So I am not so eager to bore you people with that. Rather I am more interested in discussing few strategies as to how the web pages could be benefited with the upcoming search algo.

Be it a Blog or Website or a webpage, my bet is on unique contents as well as ideas. Put your contents with relevant images. But the images should not be the downloaded one or copy-pasted. Rather work must be based on the manner like what advertisement agencies usually do, to create and reflect the mass of the contents and the message in a different way. I am not asking you guys to work on the images to that extent. But creativity has no substitute. Sit with your designer, do some brainstorming session and try to generate quality images reflecting the proper message of the contents.

A tough and lengthy job indeed. As online competition is on the rise, agencies and corporates have to devote their resources in unique processes so that you could catch the SERP quickly. The process what has been described above could fetch the expected clicks through contents as well as images. And one can extend the result to videos, photos, music (audio in fact) etc.

G-Phone and Issue of Developing Countries

The Internet penetration level in the developing countries like India is quite low (though the rate is increasing at a rapid pace) as compared to the penetration of Mobile Phones. This is true even in the rural section of the country. The likely reason for this might be communication revolution (Thanks to Reliance), growing income, lesser hesitation to spend more among the younger generation, bandwagon effect (true in the rural society) and so on. Nevertheless, expensive sets are within the reach now-a-days.

Google Corporation might reach to the furthest section with the help of this G-Phone specially in India to get in touch the behavior of the diversified India. Accordingly they would fix the strategy on the basis of the data they get. As the phone would be once again based on the Open Source mechanism and collaborative architecture (taking the comparative advantage of the specialized tech. companies) , Google would have incorporated the algorithm, mash ups, tracker and so on.

Through Internet it will take such a long time to reach to every section of the population (low penetration level, high overhead cost, low education and awareness therefore). Whereas through Mobile Phones it would be easier to Build the Brand among the mass. After that, they can use this device to make people aware and habituated with GOOGLE. In fact, Google is building the Brand in the Off-line segment also.

Delivering More proper Search Result region wise: If this model going to be true ( above process), Google will able to deliver more proper search result region wise, that is LOCAL SEARCH. This issue has become more and more vibrant in recent times. Perhaps they have already fix their algorithm towards that. And language translation will be more important for India, the next destination.

Steps for the Website Builders: Concentrate on Local Issue, include local, regional aspects to your website for the marketing purpose.

Amazing Results with Blog

I got some outstanding results with my Blog to drive traffic to this one.

I had made a post Convert terrorist Customers to Angel in Online Biz at Oheli.com. And I made the same post in this blog with only a single line, just the heading and the outgoing link to Oheli.com.
Surprisingly if you try to find out the sites with terrorist customer, knifedge blog is appearing at no. 1 and no presence of Oheli.com, where the detail and original descriptive post was made.

Also I have arrived with other few examples with this Blog. That is not enough to draw a conclusion towards the search algorithms. But it is true that search engines (specially Google) providing more stress to the blogs compared to the websites. The process seems to be more personalize from websites to blogs to mobile search to localized themes.

So companies, corporates could get more benefits in terms of driving traffic to the website using corporate blogs.

Logistic Regression, Web Analytics and Algorithm

Logistic regression is used to convert the qualitative information into the quantitative one. Search engine algorithm has lots of qualitative aspects. Example:

1. Presence of physical existence of a company (1 if yes, 0 if no) – Engine do provide values on the basis of the results found.
2. In coming links relevancy (1 for yes, 0 for no)
3. User friendly navigation in terms of users and the Bot (1 for smooth, 0 for not smooth)

and so on….

The values in the brackets are quantitative data found against the qualitative aspects for which we can fit a suitable regression model to find out which algorithms are more important (the co-efficients, t values, R etc.) to raise a website in the SERPs.

In the next step we can move further for the web usability (age, sex, sectors, regions, languages etc) so that predicting the algorithms, usability will provide more spaces to marketize the products, building brand online, diversify the products (both vertically and horizontally).

Q. Could we build another web analytics parallel to the Google one based on Regression and Statistical analysis?
A.  Yes, we can do that. In that the programming tools will be the complementary support for analysis. And I suppose SAS would be of great help.

Search Engine do follows Algorithms

Search Engine Optimization and Marketing incorporates the Algorithms coded by the Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, — GYM in short). Different engines have different set of algorithms that is programming. Algorithms are predefined set of commands/programs, on the basis of which websites are given values by the search engines. And websites do come at SERPs (Search Engine Result Page).

Now the question is, what are those predefined commands and/or Algo?
1. Content Relevancy
2. No. of Back links (relevancy)
3. No. of outgoing links (relevancy)
4. Site Navigation
5. Easy user usability
6. Informations to the Visitors
7. Physical existence of the Company
8. Keywords (that will reveal what the site is about)
9. Promptness of the website (email, queries etc.)
10. What the site is doing for the visitors  and so on …

Google, the search Giant, has own structure of algos to provide importance to the websites. Like, backlinks, page ranks, keywords, title, meta title, relevancy etc. Page rank is statistically/mathematically defined measurement. It tells what is the level of importance of the page among the billions of web pages.

SEO and SEM professional all over the world try their level best to raise the websites to the serp with a no. of keywords so that online marketing and business development could get an ease. To them it is most important to have an understanding the algorithm of the search engines to reap the advantage at best. In fact, no search engine disclose as to what algo do they incorporate or developing. Some are guess work, in house research work, leak outs, expertise reports, expectations and so on.
